Jan 20, 2015,DHAKA - An alleged criminal was killed in
a gunfight with members of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP) at the main gate of Balurmat of Railgate Jhor Pukurpar
under Khilgaon Police Station in the early hours today.
Assistant Commissioner (AC) of DB media wing Iftekhairul Islam confirmed the news saying, "He died in a gunfight at about 3am."
Our Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) sources said, "The deceased was identified as Nuruzzman Jony, 30, Khilgaon thana unit general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD)."
The body bore 15 injuries marks, he added.
Sub-Inspector Md Alauddin of Khilgaon Police Station told BSS that he only brought the body to DMCH at about 4 am.
The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
